Topservers offers a variety of statistics about the state of several games including Tremulous, Open Arena, Elite Force and others. These stats include:

- Most Popular Servers
- Most Populated Servers
- Most Popular Map
- Most Popular Mods
- Most Active Players

More stats are in the works.

The statistics are compiled by querying the master servers of a given game every 5-10 minutes (6-12 times per hour). Storing all the data retrieved for the reporting period and then compiling the data into overall statistics. The data is compiled every 30 minutes reflecting overall stats since the reporting period begun. Reporting period starts around midnight every night PST (GMT -8:00).

While this might seem like a somewhat vague way to generate these statistics, it’s not realistic from a resource perspective to query every server every few seconds. After all, this is meant to be for fun.
